Entry passes act as a bundle of prepaid classes (e.g., 10 entries). They can be used not only for individual classes but also for courses, events and workshops, and appointments, wherever you add the pass as a pricing option. An entry pass is different from credits, which are one shared balance where each class can cost a different number of credits, and from memberships, which give access for a period of time. Here’s how entry passes work and their benefits:
You can't hide a pass or sell it only to selected clients; the Visible to admins only setting exists only for memberships. To give a few clients a better price, add the entries in the client's detail with Add custom number of entries at the price you agree, or create a discount code that is valid for passes (not available on the Getting Started and Standard plans).
Usage: Each class booking deducts exactly 1 entry from the client's account. For a whole course, an event, or an appointment, you decide how many entries one booking takes (see How many entries does one booking take?).
Advantages of Entry Passes
Simple for You and Your Clients
Everything is paid upfront
Entries are automatically deducted upon booking
Automatic registration from the waitlist
1) Clients Can Purchase Entry Passes in Advance
Clients can buy entry passes ahead of time, then book classes without needing to reach for a credit card or wait for a bank transfer to go through.
2) You Receive Payments in Advance
Every booking is automatically paid for.
3) Limited Validity Encourages Usage
The validity period of entry passes motivates clients to use them within a specific timeframe.
4) Automatic Registration from the Waitlist
Entries are held while the client waits. If no spot opens up, the entries are automatically returned to the client’s account.
5) Transparent and Fair Cancellation Fees
Entries are returned to the client's Zenamu account immediately upon cancellation
Unlike credit card payments, refunding entries incurs no fees (see also How Zenamu Prevents Unnecessary Fees from Cancelled Bookings)
Everything happens automatically — no need to manually transfer money between bank accounts
6) Marketing Support
Discounted Packages: Offer packages such as 11 entries for the price of 10, giving clients 1 free class as a bonus.
Setting Up Entry Passes
Go to Settings > Passes and memberships and click Add entry pass. Choose Add pass category to create a new category, or Add passes to an existing category to add another variant to a category you already have.
2. Provide the necessary details:
Category name and, optionally, a description (for a new category)
Number of entries in the pass
Price
Validity: counted from the purchase date.
3. Once set up, the entry pass will be visible on your public schedule under the Passes section.
Split Your Passes into Categories
Every pass belongs to a pass category. As long as one universal offer is all you need, you don't have to think about categories at all — you simply add all your pass variants (e.g., 5, 10, and 20 entries with different prices and validity) to a single category.
If you want to offer passes valid only for certain classes — say, a separate pass for reformer classes, weekend workshops, or a particular instructor — create additional categories and add their passes as a pricing option only to the classes you choose. One category is included with every paid plan. Multiple categories are available on the current Expert and Ultimate plans and during the trial; the older Expert 2024 plan keeps one category.

How Do Cancellation Policies Work for Entry Passes?
When a booking is cancelled in advance, the entries are credited back to the client's Zenamu account, allowing them to use the entries for future bookings. This eliminates the hassle of manual refunds or fees associated with payment gateways (see Stripe Payment Gateway Fees).
If you have custom cancellation conditions, the percentage-based refund does not apply to entries — the cancellation fee is always 100%, meaning the entry is not returned to the client's account. A full refund of the entry can only be done manually by you — for example, if an otherwise reliable client calls to apologize because they suddenly fell ill.
In practice, a client who paid with entries can cancel and get the entry back only until your earliest cancellation fee window begins.
How to Accept Payments Only with Entry Passes?
You decide this on each class, course, or event, in its Price section, by choosing which pricing options it offers.
When creating a new class, course, or workshop, you can set the only payment method to entries (or credits if available).
How Can Your Clients Purchase Entry Passes?
Online payment: For clients to buy entry passes directly in the booking system (under Passes), you need to have at least one cashless payment method active — card payment or bank transfer. See the Set Up Card Payments and Bank Transfer Payment Settings guides.
On-site payment: You can now let clients order an entry pass in the booking system and pay at your studio. Enable it under Settings → Passes and memberships → Entry system in the Allowed payment methods section, where you choose which of your enabled payment methods can be used for entry passes. The client places an order, pays at the studio, and you mark the order as paid — the entries are added at that moment. See Paying on site for entry passes and credits for details.
Clients must have an account in the booking system
To purchase and use entry passes, clients need their own account. Without one, the system wouldn't be able to manage entries, display balances, or return entries when a booking is cancelled.
Managing Client Entry Passes
You manage entries from the client's detail page. You can either assign one of your existing passes to the client or manually add entries (any number you choose).
You can also deduct entries from client accounts. We recommend being as transparent as possible — the client should always know that entries were removed and why. For example, if a client is moving to another city, won't use their remaining entries, and you're refunding them in cash.
When a client shows up without a booking
Sometimes a client attends your class without a reservation. The easiest approach is to manually create the booking for them, selecting "entry" as the payment method — the entry will be deducted from their account automatically. You can add a client directly from the class via Add Participant.
How does entry expiration work?
By default, expired entries aren’t deleted from the client’s account — they’re deactivated and can no longer be used. When the client buys a pass from the same pass category, the unused expired entries are added to the new batch and become usable again.
If you don't want that, turn on Automatically remove unused entries after they expire in Settings → Passes and memberships → Entry system. Entries that expire after you turn it on are then removed from the client's account. More in Expired credits and entries: automatic removal and extending validity.
How many entries does one booking take?
When you add an entry pass as a pricing option, the number of entries deducted per booking depends on what you're pricing:
What you're pricing | Entries per booking |
Class, class template, or a single course session | Always 1. There's no field to change it. |
Whole course, event or workshop | You set the number (up to 20). |
Appointment service | You set the number (up to 20). |
This number is how many entries one booking takes from the pass. It isn't the total number of entries in the pass, which you set on the pass itself in Settings → Passes and memberships.
Want a longer or premium class to cost more? You can't do that with entries, because a class always costs 1 entry. Use credits instead, where you set a different credit price on each class, or create a separate pass category for those classes.
Common mistake
A studio sells a 10-entry pass and, when adding it as a pricing option to an event or a whole course, enters 10 as the number of entries, thinking it refers to the pass size. The result: one registration takes all 10 entries at once.
For an event that should count as one class, leave the number at 1. The total entries in the pass are set elsewhere — when you create the pass itself in Settings → Passes and memberships.
