Download Your Zenamu Contacts as a CSV File

This article explains how to download your whole client list — names, email addresses, phone numbers and more — as a CSV file from Clients, for example to print it, open it in a spreadsheet or import it into a newsletter tool. It isn't about the attendee list of a single class, course or event (use Export in its detail) or about exporting orders (see Order Export).

Directly from our booking system, you can send bulk email messages to groups of clients who are signed up for your classes, courses, or workshops.

If you’d like to reach all your clients at once with a creative newsletter — to share exciting news or invite them to a newly announced course — you have several options:

If you don't use or don't want to use any of the above services, Zenamu lets you at least export your client contacts to a CSV file and download it to your computer.

How to Export Clients

Here's how to get the CSV file:

  1. In Zenamu administration, click Clients in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the Download CSV file button at the top of the page, above the client table.

  3. The download will start automatically and the file will be saved to your computer.

If you don't see the Download CSV file button, you need Administrator permissions (the super admin role).

To export only specific clients (e.g., by tags or by marketing consent), you can apply filters in the table columns: Tags, Marketing (Agree / Disagree), Credits and Entries (Active only) and Membership. The filters narrow down the contacts in the table, and the export always contains the contacts from the current filtered view.

What's in the CSV file? Can I print the client list?

The file has one row per client with these columns: first name, last name, registration date, email, phone, birthday, total number of bookings, past bookings, active bookings, last order date, credits, entries, make-up sessions and marketing consent (marketingConsent).

Zenamu has no print button for the client list. To print it, open the CSV file in a spreadsheet program (for example Excel or Google Sheets) and print it from there.

How do I get a list of clients who agreed to receive my newsletter?

Every client profile has a built-in marketing consent. In the client list, it's the checkbox in the Marketing column: ticked means the client agrees to receive your marketing emails. The consent covers connected newsletter tools (e.g., Mailchimp) as well as your own sending.

  1. In Clients, open the filter in the Marketing column and select Agree.

  2. Click Download CSV file. The file contains only the clients who agreed, and the marketingConsent column shows their consent.

You can also change a client's consent by clicking the checkbox in the Marketing column and confirming the change in the Change marketing consent window.

I added a newsletter checkbox to my participant waiver. Can I export the clients who ticked it?

No. The Marketing filter and the marketingConsent column in the CSV file only use the built-in marketing consent described above. They don't include a checkbox you added to your participant waiver or a question you added to the booking form. Answers from the participant waiver can't be filtered or exported — you can only view them in each client's signed waiver (see Participant waivers in practice: templates, versions, signatures and overrides). Custom booking form answers aren't part of the client CSV export either.

If you need a newsletter consent you can filter and export, use the built-in marketing consent instead of an extra checkbox.

How to Import Your Contacts into a Marketing Tool

To upload the downloaded file to Mailchimp, for example, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Mailchimp or create a new account if you don’t have one.

  2. Go to the Audience section and select Import contacts from the Manage Audience drop-down menu.

3. Upload the CSV file.

4. Confirm the upload and proceed to Continue to Organize.

5. The contacts will be matched based on their first name, last name, and email address.

6. Save the contacts, and they will be added to your Audience in Mailchimp.
