In Zenamu, there are different permission levels for studio owners, administrators, and instructors. This article explains how to work with roles and how to transfer ownership.
Roles and permissions
Zenamu offers three permission levels for studio staff:
Administrator — full access to the entire account, including settings, revenue statistics, and subscription management
Manager (extended access) — can see participants for all sessions, schedule new sessions, cancel bookings, and manage orders. Has access to client and order overviews
Instructor (default) — can manage attendance for the classes and courses they teach
How to add a new administrator or instructor
Go to Settings > Instructors.
Click Add New Instructor.
Fill in the name, email, and any other details.
Set the desired permission level.
If the email you enter belongs to an existing Zenamu user, the system will let you know and offer to add them as an instructor.
Important: When adding staff, carefully review the permission level. The Administrator role grants full access to the entire account, including finances and settings.
Transferring studio ownership to another person
If you need to transfer studio ownership to a different email or person:
The new owner must register on Zenamu with a new email (if they don't already have an account).
Contact Zenamu support and provide both the old and new email addresses.
We will transfer ownership manually.
Important: As the studio owner, you cannot delete your account until ownership has been transferred to someone else.
Accidentally created the wrong account type
If you accidentally created a studio account instead of an individual (freelancer) account — or vice versa — contact support. We'll delete the account and you can start fresh with the correct type.
When an instructor leaves the studio
If an instructor is leaving your studio:
Go to Settings > Instructors.
Click Delete next to the instructor.
If the instructor has upcoming classes, you'll be prompted to transfer them to another instructor.
You cannot delete an instructor if they are the last user with the Administrator role.
