Collaborations in Zenamu let studios and independent instructors connect so that one studio can display selected events from another studio or instructor in its own schedule. Clients of the hosting studio then see these events directly in the schedule and can book a spot — without having to visit the partner's website. That said, every collaborating instructor also has their own full Zenamu account and manages their own schedule independently.
What is a collaboration and what is it for
Imagine you run a yoga studio and there's a dance school and a few other instructors in the same city that you know well. With a collaboration, you can include their classes in your studio's schedule. Your clients will see them right in your calendar and can sign up.
A collaboration always involves two sides:
Hosting studio — initiates the collaboration, sends invitations, and displays the partner's events in its own schedule.
Partner studio — owns the events and decides which ones to share. It sets its own pricing, payment methods, and handles its own accounting, because all orders for shared events belong to the partner.
A single studio can act as both a host and a partner at the same time — see the section on two-way collaboration in Collaboration — FAQ.
Who can use collaborations
Your current subscription plan determines which role you can have in a collaboration:
Collaboration role | Required plan |
Hosting studio (display and create collaborations) | Ultimate or Trial |
Partner studio (share your events) | Any plan |
Note: Anyone can be a partner — no specific plan is required to share your events with a hosting studio.
Where to find collaborations in the app
The location depends on your plan:
Expert and Ultimate — go to Settings > Instructors & Collaborations > Collaborations tab.
Other plans — go to Settings > Collaborations. The tab only appears in the menu when you have an active collaboration or a pending invitation.
How to create a collaboration (hosting studio)
These steps are for the studio admin who wants to display a partner's events in their schedule.
Go to the Collaborations section (see above).
Click Add Collaboration.
Enter the partner studio's domain — this is the part of the studio's URL. If the partner's address is app.zenamu.com/dance-school-london, you would enter dance-school-london.
Confirm the request.
The partner studio will receive an email invitation and will also see the request in the app. Until they respond, the collaboration status is Awaiting acceptance.
How to accept an invitation (partner studio)
When another studio requests a collaboration with you, the request appears in the Pending Collaboration Requests section. Pending requests are highlighted in red in the menu, so they're easy to spot.
Go to the Collaborations section.
In the Pending Collaboration Requests area, find the request from the hosting studio.
Click Accept and set permissions.
Choose which permissions you want to grant the hosting studio:
View attendees — the hosting studio admin can see the list of registered attendees on shared events.
Bulk message to attendees — the hosting studio admin can send a bulk message to registered attendees.
Share statistics — the hosting studio admin can see basic booking and revenue statistics for shared events.
Confirm the acceptance.
Important: Accepting a collaboration does not share any events automatically. You need to manually select which events you want to include in the hosting studio's schedule — see Sharing events and how collaboration works for clients.
If you don't want to accept the collaboration, click Reject.
How to deactivate a collaboration
Either side can deactivate a collaboration.
Go to the Collaborations section.
Click Deactivate next to the collaboration you want to end.
Confirm the deactivation.
After deactivation, shared events disappear from the hosting studio's calendar. Existing bookings your clients made for those events remain valid. Clients are not notified about the deactivation.
Once deactivated, the events appear only in your own schedule again.
How to cancel a pending request
If you sent a collaboration request and the partner hasn't accepted it yet, you can withdraw it.
Go to the Collaborations section.
Click Cancel next to the pending request.
Confirm the cancellation.
Why can't I see the Collaborations tab
If you're not on the Expert or Ultimate plan, the Collaborations tab only shows up in the menu when there is an active collaboration or a pending invitation. On the Expert or Ultimate plan, you'll always find it under Settings > Instructors & Collaborations.
