Setting Up Course and Workshop Templates in Zenamu

This article explains how to create a new course or event from an existing one with Use as a template. Courses and events don't have a template library; you copy an existing course or event instead. Saved templates in Settings › Class templates are only for classes — see Setting Up Open Class Templates in Zenamu.

New courses and workshops often share the same title, description, or pricing as past events. Creating everything from scratch each time is tedious. That’s why Zenamu lets you create a new event using a previous one as a template.

Setting up a new event then takes just a few clicks.

How do I copy a course or event as a template?

After logging in, select Courses & events from the menu.

You'll see an overview of your workshops and courses. Click Courses or Events and workshops at the top to switch between the two lists. Courses and events that have already ended are in the Past courses and Past events sections.

To use any previously listed course or event as a template for a new one, simply click the Use as a template option at the bottom of its card.

And that's it!

The form for creating a new course or event is pre-filled with the settings of the original, for example the name, description, capacity, pricing options, payment methods and instructors. You can modify, adjust, and add details as needed.

What isn't copied?

  • Dates aren't copied. For a course, set the First session, Time and Number of sessions again; the session dates are then generated. For an event, choose the new Date range.

  • Participants and bookings aren't copied. The new course or event starts empty.

  • Courses and events shared by a collaborating studio can't be used as a template. On their cards, Use as a template is greyed out.
