How to Change the Price of a Class for a Single Client

This article explains how to charge one client a different price for a class, course or event than the price you've set, for example a free trial class. It isn't about changing the price for everyone (edit the class's Price section for that) or about a Discounted price that any client can choose. There are four ways to do this:

Discount codes (way 2) aren't available on the free Getting Started plan or the Standard plan. On those plans, add the client yourself with a custom price (way 1); on Standard you can also add an entry or credits at your own price, even 0 (way 4).

1) Adding the client with a custom price

Use this when you add the client to the class, course or event yourself.

  1. Open the class, course or event and click Add participant. Choose the client.

  2. In the list of prices, choose Custom class price (for courses and events, Custom price).

  3. Type the price. Enter 0 for a free booking. You can add an Internal note, for example "trial class". Clients don't see it.

  4. If the price isn't 0, choose how the client pays (on site or by bank transfer). Then confirm the booking.

A custom price is always a price in money. It never uses the client's credits, entries or membership, and a discount code isn't applied to it. For a course, the custom price is the total for all the sessions you selected. Custom prices aren't offered for classes and events shared with your studio through a collaboration.

2) Using a discount code

Create a discount code with the discount you want and either book the client with this code or send it to them so they can book on their own. Each client can use a discount code only once, but when you add a client to a class or course from the admin, you can apply it as many times as needed. Discount codes can't reduce prices in entries, and they aren't applied to a custom price.

3) Adjusting the order amount

Go to the Orders section and find the paid class.
On the right, in the Actions column, click the three dots (…) and select Edit amount.

You can edit the amount only for orders paid on site or by bank transfer. It isn't possible for orders paid by card, PayPal, credits or entries, or for an order with a document issued in Billingo or Számlázz.hu.

4) Using a pass, credits, or a make-up session

In the client’s profile, add 1 entry or the corresponding number of credits at whatever amount you choose (it can even be 0): in the Entries or Credits section click + and tick Add custom number of entries or Add custom number of credits. Then use it to book the class. The entry has to be in a pass category that the class accepts. See How to Add Credits, Entry Passes, or Make-Up Sessions to Your Clients.

A make-up session can pay only for a class that allows payment with make-up sessions. See Make-up sessions: earning, using, and validity.
