This article explains how to add a description to an instructor's profile and who can change the instructor's name and photo. Hiding an instructor from your public page is covered in How to Hide an Instructor from the Public Page.
You can edit the profiles of the instructors in your studio on every plan. Adding more instructors to your studio is available on the Expert and Ultimate plans and during the trial.
How do I add a description to an instructor?
Go to Settings > Instructors and collaborations and click the instructor.
Under Description, choose Description within my studio and write the text.
Click Save.
For an instructor who has their own Zenamu account, Description offers two options: Description within my studio is a text you write for your studio, and Custom instructor motto or description on Zenamu shows the description the instructor wrote in their own profile, which you can't edit.
For an instructor who doesn't have a Zenamu account, there's no choice: you write the text directly under Description.
On the Expert and Ultimate plans and during the trial, clients see the description when they click the instructor's name in a class detail, and next to the instructor in the Instructors section of your public page.
Who controls the instructor's name and photo
If an instructor has their own Zenamu account, their display name and profile photo come from their personal profile — you can't change them from the studio side. The instructor logs in, edits the display name and photo in their profile, and the schedule picks up the change automatically.
What you manage as the studio is the Description within my studio field described above. For an instructor without a Zenamu account, you manage all of their details.
Tip: Two instructors with the same name? Ask one of them to set a display name that tells them apart — "Eszter S.", for example — and to add a photo. Clients will then recognize them at a glance in the schedule.
