This article is about assigning two or more instructors to the same class, course or event, for example when a course is led by two instructors or instructors alternate. Adding more instructors to your studio is a different plan feature, described in Roles and permissions in the admin: who can do what.
Which plans allow several instructors on one class, course or event?
Assigning multiple instructors to one class, course or event is available on the current Expert plan, on Ultimate and during a studio trial. The same rules apply to classes, class templates, courses and events.
It isn't available on the free plan, Standard, Lite, Professional, or on Expert 2024 in CZK, EUR or PLN. Expert 2024 can add more instructors to the studio, but it can have only one instructor per class, course or event. On these plans, saving a second instructor shows the message "Assigning multiple instructors to one class or course is available on the current Expert and Ultimate plans."

How do I assign several instructors?
When creating or editing a class, class template, course or event, find the instructor field.
Select all instructors who will be leading it (the field says Select one or more instructors).
Save your changes.
What if my plan allows only one instructor per class or course?
If your plan doesn't include multiple instructors, you can still show that instructors alternate.
How to handle alternating instructors in a course
If instructors alternate within a course, we recommend:
Set the main instructor (or the one who teaches most often) as the course instructor.
Mention in the course description that instructors alternate, and optionally list their names.
If you need to change the instructor during the course, you can update it in the course settings.
Instructor substitution
If an instructor can't teach a class and someone else is covering for them:
Open the class detail.
Change the instructor to the substitute.
If you have notifications enabled, registered participants will automatically be notified about the instructor change. You can also send a bulk message from the class detail.
Removing an instructor who has upcoming classes
If you need to remove an instructor from the studio but they still have upcoming classes, the system will ask you to pick a substitute. The substitute is assigned automatically to every class template, class, course and event where this instructor is the only instructor.
Where other instructors remain, the removed instructor is simply taken off and the rest of the team carries on. Past events stay unchanged. If the instructor doesn't teach anything on their own, you don't have to pick a substitute.
