A playlist is a themed set of videos, such as "Morning yoga", "Back strengthening", or "For beginners". Playlists keep your library tidy, and they're also the basis for how you give clients access to your videos.
What playlists are for
A clear library — viewers can easily find what they're looking for.
Membership access — for each playlist, you choose which membership groups can access it.
One-time sales — you can sell a playlist as a whole for a single price.
Creating a playlist
Go to the Playlists tab and click Add playlist.
Fill in the Name (clients will see it) and, optionally, a Description.
Under Advanced settings you can also:
upload a Playlist cover — it shows up next to the playlist name in the library; if you don't upload one, the thumbnail of the first video is used,
tick Don't show in the public library — see below.
Save.
While you're creating the playlist, you can use the Videos, access and selling section to pick videos right away, give membership groups access, and offer the playlist as a one-time purchase.
You can add videos to a playlist later from its detail page (Manage videos), or from a specific video through the Playlists action. One video can be in several playlists at the same time.
Showing the playlist in the public library
New playlists appear in the library automatically. If you don't want a playlist to show, tick Don't show in the public library under Advanced settings. The playlist then no longer appears in the library as its own section. This setting only affects browsing the library. It doesn't control access to the videos — that always depends on memberships and purchases.
Important: Hiding a playlist doesn't take access away from members or from people who bought it. They'll still see the playlist's videos in their library and can play them. Only the playlist itself disappears as a library section.
Ordering
You set the order yourself by dragging items with your mouse:
The order of videos within a playlist is set on the playlist's detail page.
The order of playlists in the library is set on the Playlists tab.
Order changes are saved automatically.
Selling a playlist as a whole
For a playlist, you can set up a one-time purchase offer: a client buys access to all the videos in the playlist for a single price. For details, see the article on selling videos.
Tip: A playlist purchase also covers videos you add to it later. So when a new video joins a playlist you sell, people who bought the playlist earlier get access to it too.
Archiving a playlist
If you no longer want to offer a playlist, archive it (actions menu ⋯ → Archive). The playlist disappears from the library and no one can buy its one-time purchase offer anymore. This has no effect on the individual videos, and anyone who already has access to the playlist (through a membership or an earlier purchase) keeps it.
You'll find an archived playlist on the Playlists tab in the Archived playlists section, and you can bring it back anytime with the Unarchive action.
