Instructors' Permissions in the Studio

Updated today

As an administrator, you can define which parts of the studio settings each instructor can access and what actions they can perform once they log into the system.

Three Levels of Instructor Permissions

Managing Attendance in Their Own Classes

The basic permission level allows an instructor to manage attendance for the classes they teach. They can't manage attendance for classes taught by other instructors, and they don't have access to other parts of your settings.

This permission is the default for every newly created instructor and doesn't require any additional setup.

This level is ideal for external instructors.

Studio Manager

An instructor with Studio Manager permissions can create new classes, cancel client bookings, and manage all attendance and orders. While this grants a higher level of access, they still can't access other parts of the system, such as studio settings (managing other instructors, payment methods, etc.).

This role is ideal for receptionists.

Studio Administrator

The Studio Administrator is the person who originally created the Zenamu account. This is the highest level of access and can be granted to other instructors as well. Instructors with this permission have access to all studio settings and all other parts of the system, including billing information and subscription management.

This role is intended for anyone with full responsibility for studio management and operations.

Setting Permissions

To add a new instructor to your studio, go to Settings and select the Instructors section. Click the + Add button.

You can set the instructor's permissions at the bottom of the dialog where you fill in their information:

If you don’t want to assign extended permissions (Studio Manager or Studio Administrator), just save the instructor and you’re done.

Otherwise, check one or both options to define the extended permissions the instructor should have:
