Client notices: how to create, edit, and display on the public schedule

Client notices let you display one important message directly on your public schedule. Clients see a bell icon in the page header and, optionally, a pop-up that opens automatically when the page loads. You create and manage notices in Settings › Schedule page, on the Public schedule tab, in the Client notices section at the bottom. A notice is only displayed on the schedule page. It isn't sent by email or SMS, and it doesn't block bookings or remove classes.

When to use a notice

  • Announcing holidays or studio closures (a notice doesn't block bookings — see the closure section below).

  • Changes to opening hours or schedule.

  • Important news for all clients (new course, event, policy changes).

How do I create a client notice?

  1. Go to Settings › Schedule page, open the Public schedule tab, and scroll down to the Client notices section.

  2. Click New notice. If you've never created a notice, expand Create notice instead.

  3. Fill in the Notice title (max 255 characters) — e.g. "Christmas Holidays".

  4. Fill in the Notice message (max 1000 characters) — e.g. "The studio will be closed from Dec 23 to Jan 2. Happy holidays!". The text supports formatting (bold, links, images).

  5. Optionally check Automatically show as a pop-up — the notice then opens automatically for clients who haven't seen it yet, right after the page loads.

  6. Click Create notice.

A new notice is visible to clients right away. Creating it automatically hides all older notices.

How clients see the notice

  • A bell icon appears in the header of the public schedule. If the client hasn't opened the notice yet, the bell is highlighted in red with a small number badge.

  • Clicking the bell opens the notice in a window with the title and message.

  • If you checked Automatically show as a pop-up, the notice opens by itself the first time the client visits the page after you created it.

How do I hide or show the current notice?

Only the current (newest) notice has a switch. It sits above the notice and shows its status:

  • Visible to clients — the notice is shown on the public schedule.

  • Hidden — the notice is not visible to clients but stays saved.

Older notices don't have a switch. They are always hidden and can't be shown again. To show an older message again, create a new notice with the same text.

How do I edit a notice?

Expand the current notice (marked CURRENT) and click Edit. You can change the title, message, or pop-up setting and click Save. Changes take effect immediately. Older notices can't be edited.

Older notices

Below the current notice, you'll find the Older notices section with a read-only history of all previous notices. You can browse through them and load more using the Load more button.

How do I show on the schedule that the studio is closed (for example, between Christmas and New Year)?

Zenamu doesn't have a "studio closed" or holiday switch that blocks dates for group classes. To handle a closure:

  1. Create a client notice about the closure, for example "The studio is closed from Dec 24 to Jan 1", and check Automatically show as a pop-up so clients notice it.

  2. Don't create classes for those days, or cancel the classes and course sessions that are already scheduled (Cancel class or Cancel this session in their detail). Whether cancelled sessions stay visible is explained in Visibility of cancelled sessions in the public schedule.

The notice only informs clients. It doesn't cancel sessions or stop bookings. Unavailable days (in Appointments › Specialists) only block 1:1 appointments of a specialist, not group classes.

FAQ

How many times does the pop-up appear for a single client?

Once per browser. The pop-up opens on the client's first visit to the public schedule after the notice was created. After that, the client can reopen it by clicking the bell icon. Zenamu remembers this in the browser, so a client who opens the page on another device or in a private window sees the pop-up again.

Can I have multiple active notices at the same time?

No. Clients only see the most recent notice, and creating a new notice hides all older ones. Older notices remain in the history but are not visible to clients.

Does the notice expire automatically?

No. A notice stays visible until you switch it to Hidden or create a new one.
