How to hide a class, course, or workshop from the public schedule

This article explains how to hide a class, course, or event (workshop) from your public schedule with the visibility checkbox in Advanced booking settings — for example, when preparing a new season or temporarily removing an offering. Hiding is not cancelling. It is also different from Don't let clients book this class, which keeps a class or course visible on the schedule but switches off online booking.

Where is the setting to hide a class, course, or event?

The visibility checkbox is in the Advanced booking settings section when you create or edit a class, course, or event. The section is collapsed by default, so click it to expand it.

The checkbox label depends on the type:

  • For classes: Class isn't publicly visible

  • For courses: Course isn't publicly visible

  • For events and workshops: Hide from public schedule

What happens when I hide a class, course, or event?

When the visibility checkbox is checked:

  • The class, course, or event won't appear on the public schedule.

  • Only you can book clients into it from the admin.

  • Existing bookings, payments, and attendance records are not affected — nothing is deleted or cancelled.

Note: Hiding a class, course, or event from the public schedule is not the same as cancelling it. It only changes the visibility — all data remains intact.

How do I keep a class or course on the schedule but stop clients from booking it?

Classes and courses have a second checkbox in the same Advanced booking settings section:

  • Don't let clients book this class — the class or course stays visible on the public schedule, but no client can book it online. Only you can add participants. For a course, this blocks booking the whole course and booking single sessions.

Events and workshops don't have this option. Their form only offers Hide from public schedule. For events that clients should see but not book online, read Workshops and courses without online booking (information only).

To stop only single-session bookings of a course (the Book this session button) and keep whole-course booking, don't use either checkbox. Delete the course's per-session pricing option instead — see Mobile App.

Common use cases

Preparing a new season

Create your classes and courses with Class isn't publicly visible or Course isn't publicly visible checked. Once the content and pricing are ready, uncheck the box to make them visible.

Temporarily removing an offering

Instead of deleting a class or cancelling sessions, just hide it. You can bring it back later without losing any data.

FAQ

Does hiding a class, course, or event delete bookings or payments?

No. Hiding only affects visibility on the public schedule. All bookings, payments, and history remain unchanged.

Can I still book clients into a hidden class, course, or event?

Yes. In the admin, you can see and manage hidden items normally, including adding clients with Add participant.
