Choosing the right type — a class or a course — affects bookings, communication, and statistics. This article helps you pick the right option for your setup. Both types can take place regularly: a class can repeat (for example every Monday), but clients book and pay for each date separately. A course is a series of sessions that clients book and pay for once. Events and appointments are compared in Class vs. course vs. event vs. appointment: what's the difference.
When to use a class (one-off or recurring)
A standalone class with no thematic connection to other classes.
A pilot or trial session.
A quick listing that doesn't require long-term planning.
A regular class (for example every Monday at 6 pm) that clients book date by date, as drop-ins or with a pass or membership. Create it once with Repeat in the New class form. The series can run up to 1 year from the first class. Repeat isn't available on the Free plan.
When to use a course
A regular cycle of classes where sessions build on each other.
Unified attendance tracking and communication for the entire course.
Better capacity planning and the ability to plan long-term.
Upfront payment for all scheduled sessions.
FAQ
Can I change the type later?
Classes and courses are two separate types. If you want to turn your regularly scheduled classes into a themed course, you need to create the course separately.
